Rebecca R. Levy is an award-winning choreographer and educator. She serves as Artistic Director & Co-Founder of Jacksonville Dance Theatre and Professor and Director of Dance at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Her work is rooted in contemporary modern dance and draws on the traditions of postmodernism, using weight, momentum, and spatial exploration to create movement that is visceral and theatrical. As an educator, Levy encourages dancers to develop physical intelligence and technical clarity while discovering their own artistic voice. Her choreography has been presented throughout the United States and is known for its athleticism, theatricality, and adventurous approach to movement.
