Red Fate — Natasha Mynhier

Blending Japanese folklore with the landscapes of northern Italy, Red Fate reimagines the legend of the red string of fate through dance and cinema as myth and contemporary relationships intertwine.

Natasha Mynhier is an award-winning director whose background spans professional dance, science communication, and commercial cinematography. Known for her sculptural choreography and emotionally precise visual style, she creates art films, documentaries, music videos, and narrative films that blend visual poetry with social engagement.

Her recent work includes BEYOND THE SUMMIT, a climate film for The North Face supporting conservation of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and a documentary series on privacy technology featuring Edward Snowden and Vitalik Buterin. Most recently, she was selected for the AFI Directing Workshop for Women+ and awarded the Orsolina28 residency, where, with support from Chanel, she directed Red Fate with dancers from Nederlands Dans Theater. In addition to her independent work, she has directed campaigns for brands including The North Face, Berkley Fishing, Anova Culinary, Heretic, MD Anderson, and Neom, and has served as cinematographer on projects for Netflix, Marvel, The New York Times, and Dropbox. At the heart of her work is a love of rhythmic, visually poetic storytelling—and dancing while cooking.
