Boys a Bug — Laurie Lynch

Inspired by Kafka's The Metamorphosis, Boys a Bug reimagines the classic search for himself through ballet and cinema, following one man's surreal and grotesque transformation within the historic halls of Roudnice Castle.

Laurie Lynch is an English director and writer working across short film and music video, with a focus on visual storytelling and atmosphere. His short film 'Mark' screened at the Cannes Film Festival, and his directing work includes the short film 'Violet Hour' alongside music videos such as Storm Queen’s 'Look Right Through' You, Secondcity’s 'I Wanna Feel', Odysseus’s 'Used to Be My Friend', and Kit Grill’s 'Street Runner'. His work is often noted for its strong cinematic language and emotional restraint.

Lynch is drawn to projects that sit between film and performance. He has previously collaborated with choreographer Fraser Roach on works including 'Into Dust' and 'Yet Why Do I Say This?', created for gallery contexts and public screenings. 'Boys a Bug' continues this ongoing collaboration.
