Cristina Molina is a visual artist based in New Orleans whose work spans video installation, photography, and performance. Originally from Miami, her practice is shaped by environmentally vulnerable landscapes and explores identity, loss, disappearing places, and the power of magical realism to challenge dominant histories.

Molina's collaborative projects often involve The Crystal Efemmes, a myth-building collective creating immersive installations and performances with feminist agendas. She is co-founder of Camp Street Studios and The Parlour Gallery and serves as Professor of New Media + Animation and Gallery Director at Southeastern Louisiana University.

The Memory of Miss River is a dual-channel 4K video installation and moving image portrait of the Mississippi River. Here, the River is imagined as an untamed mythical dual-spirit who holds the endless memory of the most important waterway in the American South. Prompted by the River's wildness and engineered constraints, gestures informed by the Mississippi's movements—carrying, holding, diverting, flooding, draining—are choreographed and performed along the River in New Orleans. Drawing parallels between water bodies, spiritual bodies, and physical bodies, these corporeal river dances symbolically embody the contested and celebratory histories carried within the River.
