11am Warba – Body and Drums in Motion - Saturday, September 6

This traditional Warba dance class explores a practice rooted in Mossi culture, where the body acts as a messenger of rhythm and meaning. Through dynamic pelvic movements, firm footwork, and active posture, participants will learn to read and respond to the coded messages of traditional percussion instruments such as the djembe, lounga, and wiga. Far from being rigid, Warba dance combines entertainment, communication, and physical grounding. The emphasis is on connecting to rhythm, collective energy, and the connection to the living history transmitted by the drums.
